Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the REDMI K100 Pro series will debut on August 11, introducing two flagship smartphones that the company says represent the next evolution of the REDMI K lineup.
The announcement was made by Lu Weibing, Partner and President of Xiaomi Group, President of the Smartphone Division, and General Manager of the Xiaomi Brand. Alongside confirming the launch date, Lu shared an extensive statement outlining the philosophy behind the K100 series, describing it as a product developed to deliver a “fully powered, fully featured” flagship experience despite mounting challenges across the smartphone industry.
Launching Earlier to Challenge Industry Trends
According to Lu, the smartphone market is currently facing rising component costs, particularly for memory and other key hardware, placing significant pressure on manufacturers.
Rather than delaying its flagship release, Xiaomi chose to accelerate the launch schedule of the REDMI K100 series.
“The K100 series was brought forward for one reason only—to create the all-around flagship that users truly want,” Lu said.
The company believes this unconventional strategy allows it to respond more quickly to market demand while continuing to deliver strong value in the premium performance segment.
Continuing the Legacy of the REDMI K Series
Reflecting on the history of the K series, Lu noted that every generation has faced major industry challenges.
From global chip shortages to supply constraints affecting display panels, the REDMI K lineup has repeatedly adapted to changing market conditions. According to Xiaomi, these challenges drove several important milestones, including the adoption of a dual-platform strategy and closer collaboration with China’s growing display supply chain.

Now entering its eighth generation, Xiaomi says the K series is evolving once again with the launch of the K100 family.
Two Flagship Models with Different Missions
The REDMI K100 Pro series will consist of two premium models:
- REDMI K100 Pro
- REDMI K100 Pro Max
Rather than simply offering different hardware specifications, Xiaomi says each model has been designed with a distinct purpose.
REDMI K100 Pro
The standard Pro model is positioned as an all-around flagship, balancing performance, display quality, battery life, imaging, audio, and premium build quality.
According to Xiaomi, the goal is to eliminate obvious weaknesses and deliver a flagship experience that excels across every major category.
REDMI K100 Pro Max
The K100 Pro Max targets enthusiasts and gamers, with Xiaomi describing it as a device created to set a new benchmark for mobile gaming.
Building on last year’s K90 Pro Max, the company promises further improvements in gaming performance, thermal management, display responsiveness, and overall user experience.
Entering the “K100 Era”
Lu Weibing described the upcoming generation as marking the beginning of a new chapter for the REDMI K series.
He emphasized that the “Pro” branding now represents more than incremental upgrades. Instead, it reflects the highest level of engineering and user experience the K series can offer within its market segment.
According to Xiaomi, the K100 Pro series focuses on:
- Flagship-level performance
- Premium display technology
- Long battery life
- Advanced imaging capabilities
- Enhanced audio quality
- Refined industrial design
- Optimized gaming experience
Lu also stressed that Xiaomi has invested heavily in optimizing real-world gaming performance, suggesting that gaming will remain one of the series’ defining strengths.
Standard REDMI K100 Also Planned
While the spotlight is currently on the two Pro models, Xiaomi confirmed that a standard REDMI K100 will also join the lineup at a later date.
The company says the base model will continue the K series’ traditional philosophy of delivering flagship-class performance and practical everyday usability at a more accessible price point.
ChinaJoy Preview Scheduled
Ahead of the official launch, REDMI is showcasing the K100 series during ChinaJoy 2026.
Between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. local time, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the new devices firsthand while Xiaomi reveals additional hardware specifications and product details.
The preview is expected to offer one of the earliest hands-on looks at the K100 Pro series before its global unveiling.
Looking Ahead
With the official launch set for August 11, the REDMI K100 Pro series is shaping up to be one of Xiaomi’s most ambitious flagship releases to date. By introducing dedicated Pro and Pro Max models, accelerating its release schedule, and emphasizing a balanced flagship experience alongside gaming-focused innovations, Xiaomi is positioning the K100 family to compete aggressively in the premium Android smartphone market.
More technical specifications, pricing, and market availability are expected to be announced during the launch event next month.
