HMD Global has quietly introduced the HMD Salo 5G in overseas markets, targeting business and enterprise customers rather than the mainstream consumer market. The new smartphone is available exclusively through business sales and is reportedly a renamed version of the HMD Titan 5G project, which was canceled in 2024.
The HMD Salo 5G features a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with a 2400 × 1080 resolution and a 90Hz smartphone display. The front of the phone houses a 50MP selfie camera, while the rear camera setup combines a 64MP main camera with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 5G chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This configuration positions the Salo 5G as a practical business handset rather than a performance-focused flagship.
The device also packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging, giving it a relatively large power reserve for everyday work and communication. On the software side, the HMD Salo 5G ships with Android 16 and is promised five years of security updates, which could make long-term software support one of its more important selling points for enterprise customers.
With its 90Hz display, 5G connectivity, 50MP front camera, dual rear cameras, large battery and extended security support, the HMD Salo 5G is positioned as a straightforward smartphone for organizations that prioritize durability, connectivity and long-term software support over premium hardware features.
