Ever since the genre of a new type of camera was started that was supposedly only meant for the action packed sports world there have been numerous devices launched. This genre of cameras are specifically made such that they are highly portable, can withstand the action of the sport and can capture moving subjects with ease. I got a chance to review one of the best action cam out there, the SJCAM SJ6 Legend. SJCAM is a premium brand that delivers quality products to its users and simultaneously makes affordable without compromising the experience of the product.
UNBOXING
I got this camera in maximum 8 days, the packaging was really good.The company has given it its own touches to make sure that it reaches the customer in good condition. It was having bubble wrap stuffed for protection. It reached to me in good condition as well.The box was well packed with all kind of precaution needed for this product.The box includes a whole lot of accessories and support devices it has one Action Camera, one Waterproof Housing, one Screw, one Mount, one Frame, two Holders, two Adhesives, two Mounts, three Connector Screws, one Bicycle HandleBar Mount, one Tripod Mount Adapter, one Tripod Adapter, one USB Cable, brand stickers and an English User Manual. I also got a very good usb mic that can be used with the camera. All in all the box was quite heavy and I wondered why a little camera is feeling so heavy, it is when I unboxed it that I realised that there are so many accessories accompanied with the camera. It always feels so good to get something extra than what you ordered and I liked how attention was given to the details as SJCAM also included little things like adhesives and lens cover and stickers.

DESIGN
Once I explored through all that was there in the box, I finally picked up the camera and pressed the power button situated on the right side of the camera, holding it for a few seconds the camera turned on and similarly you turn it off, I was greeted on the 2.0″ LCD with the SJCAM logo almost instantly and then the camera was ready to shoot right off, neat and simple. The camera is rather compact and extremely light yet has a good grip due to the rubbery textured finish increasing the friction. On the front you have the Panasonic MN34120PA 16MP CMOS sensor and adjacent to it is the secondary smaller 0.96″ display. On the top left corner, you get SJ6 Legend branding coupled with few led indicators. On the back, you get the main 2.0″ LCD. On the side, you have the usb port, micro sd card slot and HDMI port. On the top, you have the shutter release button nicely raised with a tactile feel to it. Down below you have a screw mounting space and the battery slot. The device feels quite grippy and sturdy so that it will handle a fall, but you get protective cases so it will stay unharmed.
HARDWARE
The camera comes with a waterproof housing which can be used for shooting videos 30 meter under water. It has Panasonic MN34120PA which comes with 16.37 MP Sensor, It is powered by Novatek 96660 It can shoot upto an awesome 4K resolution at 24fps video recording. It has an insane 166 degree super wide angle which captures wide angle in photographs. It comes with built-in 2.0 inch back LTPS LCD touch screen and also 0.96-inch front screen. It supports maximum 128G storage. Now moving towards battery it consists of Built-in 1000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery which lasts for 110 minutes.
The SJCAM SJ6 Legend has a rather simple user interface with a dedicated settings button on the side, the touch interface consists of big touchable elements with various settings for deciding the camera mode, and adjusting parameters like the Exposure, White Balance, ISO etc. It also consists of an app SJCAM Zone, which can be used to connect your smartphone to the camera and use it as a remote control. SJCAM Zone app allows you to control settings and functions, offers you all-in-one real-time experience for easy previewing of your recordings and photos.
You can shoot videos upto 4K resolution at 24fps which puts this action camera on par with industry leading products, further it can capture stills at 16MP 4608*3456, 14MP 4320*3240, 12 MP 4032*3024, 10MP 3648*2736, 8MP 3264*2448, all the way upto 2MP HD 1920*1080,and videos at 4K @ 24fps (2880*2160) interpolated 2K @ 30fps (2560*1440),1080 FHD 1920*1080 @ 60fps, 720P 1280*720 120fps, 720P1280*720 60fps, 720P1280*720 30fps, As you can see it can go upto a staggering 120fps (slo-mo) which is always required for sport.
The SJCAM Legend SJ6 is a very strongly built and well thought of a product that does what it is supposed to, that is, provide us with great action visuals in any situation.
