Huawei has announced that Kirin 970 chipset will be released on September 2 at IFA in Germany. Right now we have seen Huawei exhibition booth, including its official Logo, glass showcase, large poster, etc. The chipset is put in human brain, without question, it will focus on ‘AI’, which means Kirin 970 processor has very powerful performance, and it will be the global first own AI processor with NPU.
Meanwhile, Kirin 970 processor specs has also been leaked by Roland Quandt at Twitter. To be exact, Kirin 970 processor uses TSMC 10nm process, built in 5.5 billion transistor which is more complicated than Intel processor.
PS. Snapdragon 835 has 3.1 billion units and Apple A10 has 3.3 billion units. It is built in Octa core ARM big.LITTLE, 12 Core GPU, 1.2Gps LTE, Cat.18(4.5G，Pre 5G)，Dual ISP image signal processing. Huawei emphasizes with the help of Hisilicon AI computing ability, Kirin 970 processor is 25 times faster than normal CPU inter core in AI field, meanwhile, it can reduce 50 times power consumption.
Without other issues, Kirin 970 will be first released on Huawei Mate 10 on October 16, all of specs will be leaked later this month, stay tuned.
