In addition to the flagship models Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Edition, Huawei has released the new mid-class smartphone Huawei Mate 10 Lite this afternoon. With a price of 399 euros (469.16 USD), this should be much more attractive for many.
Actually, the Huawei Mate 10 Lite was introduced a few weeks ago in China, today, however, the official announcement for the German market took place. Equipped with a 5.9-inch 18: 9 display, the smartphone offers the same modern form factor as its big brother and solves with 2,160 x 1,080 pixels sufficiently high.
The mid-range smartphone is powered by a Kirin 659 Octa-Core SoC, which, combined with 4 GB of memory, should still provide a good performance. In addition, 64 GB of internal memory, which can be extended if the dual SIM function is not possible. Also on board are a dual camera on the back with 16MP and 2MP cameras as well as a further on the front with 13MP or 2MP.
The Huawei Mate 10 Lite also has a lower price, but 3.340 mAh should be sufficient for at least one day, given the energy-saving processor. Criticism is there rather already on the pre-installed OS to practice, which is unfortunately still Android 7.0 nougat with the EMUI 5.1. An update to Android 8.0 Oreo hopefully soon appear.
In Germany, the Huawei Mate 10 Lite will be available in November in the colors Prestige Gold, Graphite Black and Aurora Blue for 469.16 USD (RRP, pre-order currently cheaper ). In my opinion, an optically as well as technically interesting device, its operating system, and micro USB port probably the only major disadvantages.
