Chuwi HI8 Air vs Chuwi HI9 Air Design, Hardware, Features Comparison Review

Dual boot tablets are not that in demand, but for those who prefer to have more than just one OS on their mobile device, then a new product is always of interest. Chinese OEM Chuwi became popular because of this and now they’re back with an updated version of their Hi8 tablet called Hi8 Air. The tablet runs on Windows 10 and Android 5.1 and has slightly better specs than its predecessor of course, although you really can’t expect much from this kind of device. The Chuwi Also Launched the Chuwi Hi9 Air, a tablet based on Android that is aimed at the devourers of multimedia content and also those who want to enjoy the huge catalog of games offered by the Google application store. Chuwi is one of the most popular Chinese manufacturers of tablets and laptops. There are already known specifications and features. Here is a comparison between the Chuwi Hi8 Air and Chuwi Hi9 Air.

    Design

The Chuwi Hi8 Air is presented as the successor of the Chuwi Hi8 Pro but, when comparing the technical sheets of the 2 tablets, many differences are not noticed. What immediately comes to mind, however, is a redesign of the device: the Chinese company opted for a CNC-cut aluminum frame, which has a special gray/silver (and no longer white) finish, probably thinner and light than the previous model. The Hi8 Air maintains the concept of simplified appearance and eliminates the additional design elements to obtain a more flexible and compact form. The body is really compact and easy to hold with one hand. The Chuwi Hi8 Air is the same as the Chuwi Hi8 Pro technical specifications: screen capacitive IPS 8 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. Also, the brightness of the panel is 400nits and it has 80% of the range of colors. It comes with dimensions of 20.8 x 12.27 x 0.8cm and a weight of only 312g, making it relatively light, which will allow us to use it as if it were a smartphone. As for its interfaces, with respect to the previous model, the rear camera has been moved centrally and a speaker has been added at the bottom. It also comes with a micro USB port, micro HDMI, 3.5mm headphone jack and an expandable memory card slot andChuwi Hi9 Tablet PC 8.4 inch Android 7.0 MTK8173 Quad Core 4GB RAM 64GB ROM Dual WiFi

Chuwi Hi 9 Air Tablet PC not only comes with a 10.1-inch screen but also has the resolution of 1920 x 1080 (FHD). The image of ratio 16:10 10.1-inch that of widescreen movies. The 2k video comes from our 298 PPI density. you will find even the finest of details are made visible with HD+. What’s more, Chuwi Hi 9 Air Tablet PC adopts OGS (One Glass Solution) full lamination technology for the first time. The LCD screen and touch screen are close to a zero gap. Compared to the typical lamination technology, this reduces the air refraction between TP and glass significantly, making the picture brighter and more vivid. by reducing the internal layers between TP and glass, it lays the foundation for the lightness and thinness of Chuwi Hi 9 Air Tablet PC, which makes it possible to take the tablet by a single hand.

    Hardware

If we talk about the hardware that will make the Chuwi Hi8 Air, we have a quad-core processor based on the Intel Atom Cherry Trail x5-Z8350 with a clock frequency of 1.44 GHz (up to 1.92GHz in turbo mode). It also has a built-in graphics subsystem Intel HD Graphics @ 500MHz 8th generation, accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of memory eMMC ROM, the latter is expandable with microSD / TF cards of up to 128GB. All the above will make the visual experience much more fluid and optimal, in addition, if we attach the support of DirectX1 Special, this will make it even better and

The Chuwi Hi9 Air is powered by a tablet-focused SoC, the MediaTek MT8173 processor. Though old, the processor comes with four high performing Cortex-A53 cores that can clock up to 2.0GHz. The device comes out-of-the-box running the Android Nougat OS (v7.0). Moving on to storage, there is 4GB of RAM aboard to ensure smooth and flawless multi-tasking on the Hi9 Air tablet. The 64GB built-in storage should do well to keep hold enough files, documents, multimedia, app data and more. If the internal memory doesn’t satisfy your storage needs, there is a dedicated memory card slot that allows you double the internal storage.

    Features

The Chuwi Hi8 Air will run with two operating systems configured for dual boot, the choice of use is depending on the user’s requirements. On the one hand, it comes with Windows 10 for users who use the tablet for work and productive applications; and Android 5.1 to take advantage of the thousands of applications in the Play Store, where we will find games and perform lighter activities such as browsing the Internet or watching some videos on YouTube. If we talk about Chuwi Hi8 Air connectivity, we can mention that it mainly includes a Bluetooth 4.0 module and WiFi 802.11 in the b / g / n bands with a 2.4GHz network support. As we discussed earlier, it comes with a micro USB jack that will serve, mostly, as a charging port, a micro HDMI for video output (1080p) on an external display and a 3.5 mm audio connector for daily use of headphones. In turn, it has OTG function, which facilitates the connection with other devices. For its part, the package brings us a Bluetooth keyboard that will turn the tablet into a small notebook if we need it. the Hi8 Air comes equipped with a high capacity 4000mAh lithium polymer battery. So there is no need to worry about the duration of the energy, regardless of whether you are playing at home or traveling to a distant or nearby place. In fact, in the accessories included in the box, there is a 5V / 2A charger, which will allow the recharge of our device to be as fast as possible, and

Regarding the device’s optics and camera shooters of the Hi9 Air, Chuwi retained the same camera sensors as those on the Chuwi Hi9. The tablet sports a 5 megapixels shooter on the rear with features like digital exposure, autofocus, continuous shooting, geo-tagging and many more. The front camera is a meager 2-megapixels camera which like the rear camera, doesn’t come with LED light of any sort. On the Chuwi Hi9 Air seem like the battery capacity was the most improved feature and one to look out for the most. The tablet rocks a Lithium Polymer battery with a capacity of 8,000 mAh; almost twice that of the Chuwi Hi9. The battery is surely gonna last more than the average tablet out there but what I really can’t seem to fathom is why the tablet wouldn’t support Fast/Quick charging. Charging the device for 3-4 hours before getting a full charge is such a turn-off.

    Conclusion

According to several aspects comparison between Chuwi HI8 Air and Chuwi Hi9 Air tablet pc, they are both budget tablet pc which are affordable, but Chuwi HI9 Air has a 10.1-inch display with 1080p Resolution, 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, While Chuwi Hi8 Air has lower Display lower RAM and ROM. Chuwi HI8 Air and Chuwi Hi9 Air are two very good tablets. Both come with different specs you can check out. So according to what exactly you might be looking, you can find, in Design, Hardware, and Features. According to overall comparison with Chuwi HI8 Air and Chuwi Hi9 Air, you will know the main difference and similarity. You can buy Chuwi Hi9 Air at $219  from GearBest and Chuwi HI8 Air at $144.46. So If you want a cheaper one, you can try Chuwi Hi8 Air, but if you want the latest one which is more convenient, you can try Chuwi HI9 Air now.
