The challenge among smartphone makers is endless. After the integration of the notch on many of the current top of the range, one of the next critical points of this battle will be the creation of smartphones with full-screen displays and (maybe even beyond) even devices with a folding display. The first companies to present full-screen smartphones were Vivo, with its Vivo Nex, and Oppo, which recently presented its top of the range Oppo Find X. In the last days, however, Huawei has come forward, with a patent for a very personal Huawei full-screen smartphone.
This patent Huawei, as reported by the Dutch website Lets Go Digital, was filed on February 5, 2018, at the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office ), but approved only on June 7 last year. According to the images of the concept associated with the patent, this new smartphone Huawei should not have side frames, but the full-screen display would be sealed with stickers to thin metal strips, positioned so as to hold the entire screen, making it stable, but also resistant. In this way, the body-display ratio should be 100%.
As already seen with Vivo and Oppo, even this particular model of Huawei full-screen smartphone should be devoid of a notch, which suggests the implementation of a retractable camera, in the same way of Oppo Find X (although of course it was not confirmed nothing about it). It is not clear yet when this new Huawei device with the full-screen display will be presented to the general public. According to rumors, Huawei will launch this new technology with Huawei Mate 20, coming next fall, but it is more likely that the official launch will take place in 2019. What will be the price of this Huawei with a full-screen display? Will the Chinese company be able to defeat the competition? Stay tuned.
