Igeekphone News on December 11th: Although Apple has developed the Vision Pro with very powerful and comprehensive configuration, Apple has no intention of giving up the lighter smart glasses.
Based on multiple authoritative reports, Apple’s first smart Glasses, Apple Glasses, will be released in 2026. It is highly likely to be announced at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), and mass production and market launch will commence in 2027.

It is reported that Apple has currently suspended the development of the lightweight version of Vision Pro (originally planned to be named Vision Air) and concentrated engineering resources on Apple Glasses. The core reason is that it is judged that fully enclosed headsets are unlikely to become a mass platform in the short term, while lightweight smart glasses are more in line with daily wearing needs. And the early success of Meta Ray-Ban verified the potential of this market.
Apple Glasses is positioned as a “lightweight smart wearable accessory” in the Apple ecosystem. It does not have independent computing capabilities and relies on the iPhone to handle some tasks, similar to the interaction logic between the Apple Watch and the iPhone.
This product does not have a display screen. Its overall planning is similar to that of products from Meta, Xiaomi, etc. It is equipped with a camera, microphone and speaker. Its functions should be similar to those of previous products, allowing for routine operations such as taking photos, recording videos and listening to music.

The S-class chip customization based on Apple Watch prioritizes energy efficiency. Its core function is to control multiple cameras and handle basic AI tasks, avoiding battery life deficiencies caused by high power consumption.
It is expected that the new version of Siri can still provide intelligent support such as large models. However, given that Apple’s smart devices are still not available in China and there has been no progress for a long time, the performance of this product in China is not optimistic.
