Not only showing off the gaming laptop with the fastest screen, Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 alone at CES 2021. Asus also introduced the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE. As the name implies, this gaming laptop has two screens combined with fierce specifications. Let’s look at its specs and features in details:
The design remains the same and is the feature that obviously distinguishes the product from the rest of the line-up. We, therefore, find the ROG ScreenPad Plus, a secondary display positioned above the keyboard and designed to make the gaming experience even more immersive and expand productivity thanks to more space available for our work windows.
Inside, Asus took the opportunity to update the AAS Plus cooling system with the use of liquid metal, which allows more power without necessarily more noise. Thus, the Zephyrus Duo SE is able to manage without batting an eyelid a power of up to 165W and allow 30% more air compared to last year’s model.
Besides, the new ROG Zephyrus Duo SE brings several upgrades compared to its predecessor. It is now powered up to AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processors mated with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics.
Moving the screens, there are two configurations regarding the display, both of which are 15.6 inches diagonal but one FHD at 300Hz and one 4K at 120Hz, both Pantone certified and equipped with Adaptive-Sync technology. The second panel then follows the main one by resolution and therefore we have two ScreenPad models, one FHD and one 4K, obviously with half the vertical resolution.
RAM can go up to 48GB with a 16GB DDR4 3200MHz module soldered to the motherboard and a free SoDIMM slot for expansion. In terms of storage, we can configure the Zephyrus Duo to have up to 2TB of space on a double PCIe SSD in a RAID 0 configuration.
Excellent equipment of ports that sees at the user’s disposal a USB Type C 3.1 Gen2, two standard USB 3.1 Gen2, a USB 3.1 Gen1, HDMI 2.1, a combo audio jack, ethernet port, and microSD card reader. Wireless connectivity is also good thanks to an AX WiFi modem and Bluetooth version 5.0.
Finally, the battery offers a capacity of 90Whr and can be recharged with the 240W power supply pack or with an optional Type-C charger, certainly lighter and more comfortable to carry, but limited to 100W of power. Despite everything, even the dimensions remain discreet, which amount to 36×26.8×2.1 cm, for a weight of 2.4 kg.
As for this Zephyrus Duo 15 SE, we do not yet have information about the price and availability but we will let you know as soon as we receive information about it.
