Design & Display
Inside an aluminum alloy unibody frame, Chuwi FreeBook integrates a 13.5-inch 2K (2256 x 1504 pixels) IPS “Retina UHD” display in 3:2, touch with support for pen input (also visible in first official renderings) and a special hinge, which allows you to rotate the screen up to 360° to use it in multiple modes (notebook, tablet, tent and stand). The CHUWI FreeBook has a sober and compact design, with an almost borderless screen and a VERY spacious keyboard and touchpad. Made of aluminum and weighing just 1.34 kilograms, it is ideal for those who travel a lot and need portability and strength.
Hardware
It is based on the Intel hardware platform codenamed Jasper Lake. A 10nm Celeron N5100 processor is used, which contains four cores without multithreading support. The base clock frequency is 1.1 GHz, and the maximum frequency in turbo mode is 2.8 GHz. The graphics node uses an integrated Intel UHD accelerator with a maximum frequency of 800 MHz. The Chuwi FreeBook laptop comes with 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and a fast 256GB SSD. The Wi-Fi wireless adapter supports operation in the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands. The equipment also includes a Bluetooth 4.2 controller.
Features
FreeBook should support dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, and a full-featured USB Type-C port, therefore useful for data transfer, power supply, and video signal. The pre-installed operating system will be Windows 10, but the company has ensured the update to Windows 11. The Chuwi FreeBook is equipped with a three-port USB Type-C connection interface, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and a power button positioned on the side. There is then a hinge that allows the keyboard to be flipped 360º, disabling the keys, so that the screen can be used with a simple tablet, with the advantage of supporting a stylus.
Battery
The FreeBook features a built-in 38Wh high-density polymer lithium battery, along with a low-power processor and high-efficiency management of the entire machine. According to the manufacturer, depending on its use, the battery can last between 6 to 8 hours, which allows worry-free use throughout the day.
