A few days ago, Coolpad Group appointed a new member in their management team. According to the announcement, the former head of Redmi Li Yujing will be the vice president of Coolpad Group and the president of the hardware product center And he will be responsible for product planning, hardware R&D, supply chain, and quality management.
According to the announcement, Li Yujing is 37 years old and holds a double bachelor’s degree in electronic science and technology and business administration from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He has more than 15 years of experience in R&D and supply chain management in the communications industry.
Prior to joining Coolpad, Li Yujing served as the product director of the mobile phone department of Xiaomi Group and the director of the group staff from September 2016 to December 2020. He was responsible for Redmi mobile phone product line planning, hardware product system strategic planning, and other businesses.
It is reported that Li Yujing once defined the Note 7 series and Note 8 series. As a popular series, Redmi’s The Note product has the largest shipments on all Redmi cell phones. Among the Note series, the Redmi Note7 and Redmi Note8 series shipments alone have reached 100 million units worldwide.
In fact, since the beginning of this year, Coolpad officially announced its return to the Chinese mobile phone market in the middle of the year and released the new Coolpad COOL 20, which is equipped with a double-sided glass body, 48MP camera, MediaTek G80 chipset, and the industry’s first “90-day replacement 2-year warranty”, the price is only 699 yuan (around $109).
In terms of the financial standing of Coolpad, the company has just launched a strategic investment from internationally renowned investment institutions and raised 833 million yuan ($130 million) during the last national holiday.
