Daysky A3 Notebook, First Using Intel J Series Chip (Coupon Inside)

Looks like Daysky got the courage to renovate its laptop line making this move to jump from the Intel’s N series SoC’s to the J series, this is an step up in processing power. Hardware

Daysky A3 includes the new Apollo Lake Intel Celeron J3455 SoC a Quad Core with CPUs that reach up to 2.24GHz and an Intel HD Graphics 400 GPU. We also have on board 4GB of RAM and at the storage level we find a 64Gb SSD and a hard disk 2.5″ optional mechanical 500Gb (advanced model).

The 14.1 “display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (FHD) and is accompanied by a 1.3MP webcam with microphone. As for connectivity options we have Dual Band WiFi, a USB 3.0 port, another USB 2.0 video output miHDI, RJ45 connector, microSD card reader and a 3.5mm audio jack. Comes with a built-in 7.4V / 4000 mAh battery.

Review

The laptop comes with Windows 10 Home, and ships with a charger and English user manual. The choice of Celeron J3455 is interesting as it’s supposed to be a desktop processor, while N-series processors – often used in mini PCs – are for “mobile” applications such as laptops and 2-in-1 hybrids. That will mean cooling will be more challenging, but at 10W they may have managed.
For some reasons Bluetooth is not listed anywhere, and battery capacity looks quite low.
