MIUI 9 will be released with Xiaomi MI5X on July 26 together. We have known some special features in advance, such as new themes, new left one screen design, split-screen function, etc. Now Xiaomi official has released MIUI 9 before press conference, which has made some collection about its features. First, four new themes (Including three new themes)

Second, MIUI 9 first batch will be compatible with Xiaomi MI6 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Snapdragon version, the second batch will be Xiaomi MI5, MI MIX, MI note 2 and other hot models,
In addition, Lei Jun introduced on Weibo that Xiaomi MI2/2S has 5 million users, currently we have confirmed MIUI 9 will be compatible with Xiaomi MI2/2S, but it needs to wait, and then it will be compatible in third batch.
Third, Left one screen new design under locked state.
MIUI 9 locked screen adopts new design, when locking the screen to slide to the right, we can see Xiaomi flashlight, MIJia, remote controller, MI Pay, Xiaomi NFC Bus pay, five quick entrance.
Because Xiaomi added fingerprint scanner, one of the most popular functions is that press long to launch torch which has been replaced by fingerprint scanner to avoid some regret. In MIUI 9 OS, torch is placed in left one locked screen.
Fourth, MIUI Split screen function
Under MIUI split screen, Xiaomi MI MIAX 2 is first to use this function on May 25, currently Xiaomi MI6 and Xiaomi MI MAX 2 MIUI 8 developer version can use it.
MIUI Split screen mode will become MIUI 9 standard version, based on Android7.0 OS or over version, it will support split-screen mode, such as Xiaomi MI6, Xiaomi MI MIX, MI Note 2, MI MAX, MI MAX 2, MI5, Redmi Note 4X, and others all support split screen mode.
Fifth, system simplified, optimized.
In the past 7 years, with MIUI developing and updating, right now it has got through 340th week update, there are some service, functions, modules which can adapt to users’ change, and it needs to some simplification and optimization to avoid system redundant to affect users’ experience.
MIUI 9 has simplified and optimized over 50 items in system and functions, cancelling cloud card and phone call displaying function, cancelling child mode, wiwide public Wifi function, simplifying xiaomi yellow page, etc.
