A few months after the launch of the Rogbid Panda smartwatch, Rogbid prepared a new model called Air. With the Rogbid Air, a new and well-equipped smartwatch with an LTE modem and GPS module is now available. The wearable is based on Android. The Rogbid Air: LTE-Smartwatch comes with a 1.75 inch IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 385 pixels. The SoC for the Android functions is the SC9832, which, depending on the model variant, can access one, two, or four gigabytes of RAM. The internal memory is between 16 and 128 gigabytes in size. The 50 x 41 millimeter and 15-millimeter thick watch is equipped with an LTE modem, with which calls can also be made directly on the watch. A GPS module with A-GPS and Glonass support enables navigation with current traffic data even when on the move.
The Rogbid Air is a smartwatch based on Android. The watch does not rely on a specially adapted variant of the operating system; but uses Android in the already very old-fashioned version 9.1. The advantage: Any apps can be installed on the Rogbid Air, at least in theory. In reality, however, the operation of non-adapted apps on the watch can be a game of patience, and experience has shown that the battery life is short compared to smartwatches with a correspondingly optimized, dedicated operating system. To compensate for this, a second computing chip is installed for energy-saving basic operation with a severely limited range of functions.

The integrated heart rate sensor supports the measurement during training units as well as throughout the day. According to the manufacturer; the Rogbid Air is protected against the harmful effects of penetrating water; up to a water pressure of 5 ATM and is therefore also suitable for swimming. The 700 mAh battery should be able to charge within an hour and a half and allow a runtime of up to five days in normal use – in standby mode, it should be up to ten days.
