While Google’s Pixel 7 line isn’t quite here yet, WinFuture has gotten its hands on some key details about Google’s 2023 phones, so let’s assume the next flagship models will be called Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Based on the code, Pixel 8 and 8 Pro appear to be code-named “Shiba” and “Husky,” respectively. Given that Google’s current flagships, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, are code-named “Panther” and “Cheetah,” respectively, the code names for the Pixel 8 line seem reasonable.
In addition, the WinFuture report dovetails with an August revelation. The third generation of Google Tensor chips are also said to have been built in partnership with Samsung. The Tensor chip, code-named Zuma, will have the same Samsung G5300 baseband (G201) as the Tensor G2.
Other details about this chip are elusive, but Samsung has already started work on the Exynos 2300, which, if anything, will be the reference for the next Tensor chip.
The phones will offer 12GB of RAM and run Android 14, according to the release. The Android 14 code name is roughly Upside Down Cake, while the Pixel 8’s display appears to have a resolution of 2268×1080 pixels, while the Pixel 8 Pro has a resolution of 2822×1344.

As igeekphone reported, there have been other leaks suggesting that the Pixel 8 Pro could have an ultrasonic sensor, which should in theory be superior to the optical fingerprint sensor used in the Pixel 6 and 7 series, so stay tuned.
