Rockchip RK3368 octa-core Cortex-A53 processor @ 1.2 GHz was introduced in 2015 mostly in TV boxes running Android 5.1 such as Beelink i68 or Tronsmart Orion R68. Unsurprisingly we don’t read much about new Rockchip RK3368 products four years later. But Rockchip appears to have launched an RK3368 “refresh” with RK3368PRO processor equipped with most of the same features, plus the addition of a USB 3.0 interface, and HDR support. The company also updated software support to Android 9.0 Pie. Now let’s talk about the HK1 MAX plus
SoC, RAM and storage
The HK1 MAX Plus has as its heart an SoC RK3368PRO, a new Octa-Core with ARM Cortex-A53 processors that reach 1.5 GHz and also integrates a PowerVR SGX6110 GPU with native codec H.265 and VP9 decoding among others. It also includes 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32/64/128 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can complement with the included microSD card reader.
The wireless connectivity of this Smart Box includes Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 with an internal antenna. At the connector level, we have a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0a port, SPDIF digital audio connector, RJ45 Gigabit network port and what looks like a 3.5mm audio jack on the perimeter of the plastic case.
