As is usual practice at this time of year, Huawei will soon launch new members of the Mate line. And the one believed to be a Huawei Mate 40 Pro may have been seen live in a video. The device in question was caught in the metro in the hands of a user in a very camouflaged way.
The picture quality is poor, but we can make out the notch for the dual selfie camera in the upper left corner of the display, which seems to merge into the frame like a waterfall. In addition, the device has very thin bezels on all sides. As you can see from the images, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro appears here with reddish buttons on the right side and it is shown with a protective film.
Previously Released Renders
This render indicates that the smartphone will have a rounded rear camera module. Once again, it should be in the photographic field that Huawei will bet many of its chips. It should be noted that four new smartphones in this line are expected: they are Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 RS Porsche Design, and Mate 40 Pro +. This is because they all appeared in TENAA’s databases.
Also, insiders wrote about two speakers, a 6.78-inch OLED display with QHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The hardware base of the Mate 40 series will be the Kirin 9000 chipset. The main sensor should be 108MP combined with a periscope lens with a 5x optical zoom. The remaining modules will likely be ultrawide and ToF sensors.
Unfortunately, due to US sanctions, Huawei was able to produce less than 10 million SoCs. Because of this, a shortage of Huawei Mate 40 smartphones is expected, and it may be released in October. But whether the models will also be sold outside of China has not yet been confirmed. If so, then it shouldn’t be ready until 2021.
