From the evocative location in Paris, Huawei has announced its new top of the range Android Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. These are very refined products on which the Chinese company has worked hard to bring them to an even higher level than last year’s models. A work that was done above all on the photographic sector where these two smartphones really offer the best of the market. And DXOMark has already certified that the Huawei P20 Pro is today the best smartphone with which to take pictures. A record that allows this smartphone to stand a head above the Galaxy S9 + and the iPhone X.
Huawei P20 Pro
The technical data sheet is a real joy for the eyes. This smartphone features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19: 9. The beating heart is the powerful Kirin 970 processor combined with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. The processor also has a Neural Network Processing Unit that allows the smartphone to be equipped with features related to artificial intelligence.
The Huawei P20 Pro also features 4G LTE Dual SIM, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11ac, GPS, NFC and a fingerprint sensor placed at the front on the bottom edge. The design of this device, in fact, is not totally borderless and also includes a notch on the top of the display. Present the IP67 certification, while the battery is 4000mAh with support for quick charging. On the software front, the Huawei P20 Pro features Android Oreo 8.1 with proprietary interface EMUI 8.1.
But the photographic sector is the real strong point of this product. In fact, a camera with three lenses stands out from the rear. The first sensor has a good 40MP (f / 1.8) which is flanked by a 20MP sensor in black and white (f / 1.6) and an 8MP sensor (f / 2.4.). On the other hand, on the other hand, there is a 24MP camera (f / 2.0) that also performs facial recognition functions to unlock the device. Artificial intelligence is used above all to improve the quality of the shots thanks to the ability to automatically recognize the scenes.
Price of 899 euros ($1115.55) with availability from April 6 in the colors Twilight, Black, Midnight Blue and Pink Gold.
Huawei P20
It differs from its older brother essentially due to its smaller size thanks to the 5.8-inch LCD display with a 2240 x 1080 pixel resolution and a 19: 9 aspect ratio. The hardware base is the same even if the RAM is 4GB and the battery has a capacity of 3400 mAh.
The difference in the photographic sector is more pronounced. In fact, a double optical camera with 12MP (f / 1.8) and 20 MP (f / 1.6) sensors stands out from the rear. IP67 certification is also lacking.
Huawei P20 is available immediately at 649 euros ($805.33). The colors at launch are black, midnight blue and pink gold.
Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design
Huawei has really wanted to amaze and next to its new top of the range wanted to announce a very exclusive terminal made in collaboration with Porsche. From a technical point of view is a Huawei P20 Pro packaged with a more elegant dress even if there are some surprises. The display, for example, is a 6-inch OLED with curved edges. In addition, this smartphone has 256GB or 512GB of storage.
But the most interesting element is the presence of a double sensor for the fingerprints, one placed at the back and one integrated under the display. It will be sold with a refined leather case at a price of 1699 euros ($2108.26) for the 256GB variant. The cost that goes up to 2095 euros ($2599.64) for the declination with 512GB of storage.
