Is the popularity of mobile online gaming greater than that of PC online gaming?

With the changes and the advancements that technology has undergone over the last couple of decades and the introduction of new devices such as smartphones and tablets, it is perhaps no surprise to learn that mobile casino gaming is bigger than the PC version in the present era.

Indeed, whilst traditional PC gadgets will have always generally had the demands and the capabilities in order to host games and play them with the required specifications without any issues, the aforementioned portable devices have improved and have become incredibly powerful themselves, whilst gaming has also undergone a host of developments.

There are, though, a number of reasons as to why mobile casino gaming has become bigger than what PC casino gaming had once been and we look to outline some of the biggest reasons in this post.

    Games are more accessible

Games no longer require certain features and software such as Adobe Flash following the introduction of HTML5, which has meant that any device that has access to a web browser can run the online casino game that is wished to be played.

Indeed, this means devices such as smartphones and tablets are handier to use compared to their PC counterparts, as bettors can use these gadgets within the palm of their hands and anywhere, they are able to acquire an internet connection, rather than having to be seated at a desk and remaining static in one place.

    Convenience

Another reason why mobile casino gaming has become as big as it has is simply down to convenience. As mentioned, one of the main reasons is down to the fact that these devices are portable and can be used anywhere a gambler chooses. For instance, a casino game can now be played on public transport, when previously a user will have had to wait until they got home or to their desk at work.

In addition, the fact that there are apps that are downloadable to these portable devices now is just another reason why mobile casino gaming has taken off in the way it has, with each of these continuing to make things as convenient as possible. For example, the Unibet Casino app is a great way in which a smartphone can be used, as it has been made fully compatible with a number of devices across different operating systems, whilst also offering full access to all the latest slots and live dealer games available for the desktop version.

    Functionality and easy to use

One of the biggest advantages that can be experienced when using a portable device is the functionality and the ease of use that these devices provide users in the modern era.

Games can now be accessed via the apps that can be downloaded or they can be played straight from a mobile browser of choice, with the vast majority of them being incredibly easy to use and adopting a rather simplistic layout that will provide a top user experience.

Disadvantages that could have held mobile casino gaming back

Although the advantages and benefits of playing on a mobile device perhaps outweigh the disadvantages that we are about to highlight, it must be said that there are a couple of drawbacks that could potentially have had an impact and why some will still prefer to play casino games on a traditional PC.

For instance, one of the biggest drawbacks that could be experienced is the size of the screen the game is being played on. Naturally, a smartphone or a tablet is typically a lot smaller than a PC monitor, which some would argue could have an impact on the quality of the game being played.

In addition, hardcore PC users would also suggest that the overall user experience is a lot better when using such as device, compared to the portable versions, as there is a lot more that can be achieved when visiting a ‘full-version’ of a website.
