According to the Kuwait Times, Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Osama Boodai, has issued a decision prohibiting the sale of tobacco, tobacco derivatives, various types of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, as well as the tools, equipment and accessories used for their consumption, through delivery platforms or any similar online channels.
This decision authorizes the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to take one or more penalty measures, including warnings, temporary administrative suspension, and license revocation in cases of repeated violations, provided that such measures do not exceed the more severe penalties stipulated by other laws.
The relevant officials have been instructed to implement this decision within their respective jurisdictions. The decision takes effect from the date of its issuance, repeals any conflicting regulations, and will be published in the “Official Gazette”.
