Not as popular like the Kodi Boxes, this SAT TvBox is an hybrid between a regular Android TvBox that are the common around internet, this particular set comes with a double purpose thanks to its dual tuner, one for the regular signal from your local Tv Networks and other for the SAT signal. Lets check the Magicsee C100.
The Magicsee C100 is built entirely in black plastic. On the sides the black is shiny, while on the upper part it is matt black. It is the same housing as other equipment with double tuner. In the front part is the infrared sensor hidden behind the plastic of the box. On the left side we have the micro SD card reader, four USB 2.0 ports and the status LED.
On the back we have the DVB-T2 antenna connector, the DVB-S2 antenna connector, the CVBS analog output, the ethernet connector, the HDMI 2.0a output, the SPDIF optical output and the power connector.
In the box you will find the Magicsee C100, a HDMI 2.0 cable, power adapter, IR remote control and a user manual in english.
Despite of its small form factor this little device is powered by a AmLogic S905D, a quad core ARM Cortex-A53 SoC @1.5 GHz with a Mali-450MP5 GPU, has 2Gb DDR3 of RAM and 16Gb eMMC flash for user storage (if you need extra espace, there’s a microSD card slot up for an extra 32Gb).
In the video apartment as Output: HDMI 2.0a up to 4K @ 60Hz with support for HDR10 and HLG, and 3.5mm AV (composite video/stereo audio)jack, optical S/PDIF. This machine is compatible with video codecs – 10-bit H.265, and VP9 Profile 2 up to 4K60, H.264 up to 4K30, AVS+ and other codecs up to 1080p60.
This hybrid TvBox has dual tuners (specs below):
– DVB-T/T2/C tuner with coaxial antenna input connector.
– DVB-S/S2 tuner with F antenna input connector
For connectivity, the Magicsee C100 comes with a 10/100M Ethernet port, dual band 802.11 b/g/N/AC Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1 LE. Plus, four USB 2.0 host ports.
This All-In One has a powerful hardware that can manage any task you throw at it. But, the most important feature of this device is the inclusion of a double tuner for DVB-T2 – DVB-C and for DVB-S2, that is, to watch digital terrestrial, cable and satellite television. It is assumed that with this SoC you can use both channels at the same time, that is, record by one and tune by another. I have not tried it. The application that manages the tuners is completely separate from Android so we can not use the tuners in Kodi. If we want to do this we will have to install a version of LibreELEC that is available for the device.
To start the tuning application we must open the Android DTV application or with the dedicated command button. The first thing that appears is a window where it tells us that we do not have channels configured, inviting us to do a scan to find them.
This gizmo is one of the kind, as an hybrid device, the Magicsee C100, can be used to convert a old LCD monitor into a SmartTv thanks to their Tv Tuners and the hardware from a Android TvBox, is an All-in One.
