MECOOL HM8 : a cool Android 6.0 TV BOX

If you aren’t aware of what a Android Tv Box is, then just think it of as a mini Android PC that provides amazing video experience. Though they might look similar conceptually but they are not. When we see something in golden, it really feels premium. The HM8 comes in a lavishing golden colour. On the front we have the power Button. The back features a Audio-video port, Ethernet slot, a HDMI port, and the 5V Dc power supply port. The side is accompanied by 2 USB 2.0 ports and a TF card slot.

H A R D W A R E

The HM8 features a 2.0Ghz quad core Amlogic S905X processor plus a Mali-450 GPU that will handle the processing department. It has a 1GB RAM and a 8GB of internal storage that is expandable upto 32GB through the TF card. The S905X on the MECOOL HM8 is powerful enough to drive the H.265 video decoding.

T H E  H O W S ?

I will discuss the 2 HOWS here. The first HOW is” How to setup this TV box?” Setting up the box is quite simple. First make sure you have a working internet connection with you. Then connect your Tv to the box either by the AV port or by using a HDMI Cable. Turn on the box and connect it using a LAN cable or use WiFi to do that.The last step is to plug in your pendrive or external storage media and there you go, its done. Just access your content and hit the play button on the remote.

We saw how to make it work. But ‘How does it work ?’. As I wrote earlier, the S905X is capable of H.265 Video decoding. The H.265 is a new video codec that has better visuals than the H.264 codec. The highest video resolution that is supported is 4K. The 4K and 2K 60FPS formats are playable too. The strong processor and the GPU helps the HM8 to decode your videos and display them on your TV. Let it be your High resolution photos, HD movies or even your games. It will play anything you throw at it.

O T H E R   F E A T U R E S
