The Meizu may be in trouble, but the company certainly is not showing it. They went to Weibo with a teaser, related to a new announcement coming tomorrow, although there is no mention of what they intend to launch. In parallel, they posted a poster to accompany the teaser, asking people to prepare for the announcement.
Although we don’t know what the ad is for, we have a pretty good idea what it will be. Flyme, the custom user interface for the operating system Android of Meizu, is receiving a new update, and a few months ago they showed the date launch of the new Flyme 8 like August 13th, which is tomorrow. What we’re not sure about is whether Flyme 8 is the only big announcement they have for tomorrow.
We have seen several leaks of information for several different Meizu devices, and it is entirely possible that we can see at least one of these devices launching alongside the new user interface. We do not expect to see the new Flagship Meizu 16S Pro, but we would not be surprised to see a new intermediate device be official tomorrow.
We look forward to seeing exactly what Meizu has in store for us tomorrow. While we’d love to see the company announce something big, it’s more than likely that they only have one small ad for Flyme 8. We hope they can get out of their situation.
