It is very surprised that when Microsoft starts to send Windows 10 update in Autumn, they also release Microsoft Surface Book 2 notebook, Surface Book 2 has 13.5 inch and 15 inch two version, compared with last generation, it doesn’t change a lot, it still uses aluminum unibody, which can be detachable, but it adds strength and durability, improving keys zone usage.
As for specs, Surface Book 2 13 inch uses i5-7300U and i7-8650U processor, 15 inch version only uses i7-8650U processor, the other amazing part is that Surface Book 2 I5/I7 version doesn’t use fan design, only in Discrete graphics card version, the bottom with half zone of keyboard installs thermal fan.
Both version use 3:2 screen, Surface Book 2 15 inch screen resolution with 2400×2160 is higher than 13 inch with 3000×2000 resolution, up to 16GB, 13 inch Discrete graphics card version is 2GB GTX 1050, but 15 inch is 6GB GTX 1060, and Microsoft claims the goal of this arrangement is to meet the needs to use VR.
The other feature is that Microsoft Surface Book 2 is equipped with USB Type C port, and USB 3.1 Gen 1 Standard port, 13 inch has 15-23 mm thickness, i5 version weighs 1.53kg, i7 version weighs 1.64KG, the tablet has 719g weight, 15 inch version also has 15~23mm thickness, 1.905Kg total weight, tablet has 817g weight.
Two notebook can support about 17 hours for battery life, the tablet mode supports 5 hours working. It is said Surface Book 2 13 inch i5 8GB+256GB sells at 1499 usd,15 inch 16GB+256GB version sells at 2,499 usd, both can be preordered from Nov. 9, and starts to sell on Nov.16.
