Nokia X71, the next new smartphone of the historic Finnish brand has been identified as Nokia 6.2 or Nokia 6 (2019) and has just been spotted on Geekbench, showing a Snapdragon 660 and 6GB of RAM.
A few days ago we told you about the invitations issued by HMD Global referring to a presentation event scheduled in Taiwan on April 2nd . The event in question will most likely be used for the launch of the new Nokia 9 PureView flagship on the Taiwanese market, but will also have a brand new smartphone, the aforementioned Nokia X71.
Two new screenshots published in China on Baidu, and reported above, correctly identify the new smartphone of the historic brand, previously associated with the TAS or Taishun code name, not like Nokia 8.1 Plus, but like Nokia 6.2 or Nokia 6 (2019). One of the screenshots, in fact, speaks of “TAS” as of Nokia 6 (2019), the other instead identifies it as Nokia X71 and both, it is worth remembering, come from OTA firmware from the FIH server.
The new smartphone, which has been at the center of numerous rumors for some time and is now close to its official debut, has just been spotted in the database of the well-known Geekbench benchmarking platform.
If the screenshot you see above is actually authentic, the new mid-range Nokia would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, not exactly the last of Qualcomm, but at the same time, a good upgrade compared to the Snapdragon 630 of which it is equipped with Nokia 6.1. The mentioned SoC should be accompanied by 6GB of RAM, while as far as software is concerned, the presence of Android 9 Pie is almost obvious, as is the fact that the device belongs to the Android One program.
It remains to be seen if this variant with 6GB of RAM will be common to all markets or exclusive to the Taiwanese one. The official presentation of Nokia X71 is now only a few days away, before long we will know more.
