Nothing Phone (4b) Officially Unveiled with Glyph Lighting, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, and Up to 6,000mAh Battery

Igeekphone News: Nothing has officially introduced the Nothing Phone (4b), a new mid-range smartphone designed to bridge the gap between the company’s CMF lineup and the Nothing Phone (a) series. Combining the brand’s signature transparent aesthetic with long battery life, a smooth AMOLED display, and balanced hardware, the Phone (4b) aims to deliver a premium user experience at an accessible price.

    Signature Nothing Design Returns

The Nothing Phone (4b) retains the company’s recognizable transparent-inspired design language while introducing several refinements.

The device measures 8.6mm thick, weighs 210g, and carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. Multiple color options are available, each featuring an integrated rear panel highlighted by Nothing’s signature Glyph Bar lighting system surrounding the camera module.

A dedicated AI button has also been added to the side of the device, providing quick access to AI-powered features and shortcuts.

    6.77-Inch 120Hz AMOLED Display

The Phone (4b) features a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with specifications typically found in higher-priced devices.

    Display highlights include:

    • Full HD+ (1080p) resolution
    • 120Hz adaptive refresh rate
    • Peak brightness of 2,000 nits
    • 480Hz high-frequency PWM dimming
    • Optical in-display fingerprint sensor
    • Dual stereo speakers

These features are designed to deliver smooth scrolling, vibrant colors, and improved outdoor visibility.

Powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 4

At the heart of the Phone (4b) is Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, targeting reliable everyday performance while maintaining strong power efficiency.

    The chipset is paired with:

    • 8GB LPDDR4X RAM
    • 128GB or 256GB internal storage
    • 4,400mm² vapor chamber (VC) cooling system

The device does not support expandable storage via microSD card.

Nothing OS 4.1 Based on Android 16

The smartphone ships with Nothing OS 4.1, built on Android 16.

Nothing has committed to an extended software support policy that includes:

    • Three years of major Android OS upgrades
    • Six years of security updates

This places the Phone (4b) among the better-supported smartphones in its price segment.

Dual Cameras with 50MP Main Sensor

For photography, the Phone (4b) features a dual rear camera setup consisting of:

    • 50MP primary camera
    • Ultra-wide camera

On the front, a 16MP selfie camera handles video calls and self-portraits.

While Nothing has not positioned the Phone (4b) as a camera-centric flagship, the setup is designed to provide dependable imaging performance for everyday photography.

Massive Battery Headlines the Feature List

Battery life is one of the Phone (4b)’s biggest selling points.

Nothing offers different battery capacities depending on the market:

    • Global version: 5,200mAh battery
    • India version: 6,000mAh battery

The Indian model becomes the largest-battery smartphone ever released by Nothing.

    Both versions support:

    • 33W wired fast charging
    • 7.5W wired reverse charging

The larger battery capacity is expected to provide extended endurance for users who prioritize long-lasting performance.

    Regional Differences

Nothing has introduced slight hardware differences between regional variants.

The global model includes NFC support for contactless payments and device pairing, while the Indian version omits NFC.

Regardless of region, every Phone (4b) supports:

    • 5G connectivity
    • Wi-Fi 6
    • Bluetooth 6.0

    Pricing and Availability

The Nothing Phone (4b) launches with the following European pricing:

    • 8GB + 128GB: €329
    • 8GB + 256GB: €379

In India, the smartphone starts at ₹30,000, positioning it competitively within the upper mid-range smartphone market.

    Final Thoughts

Nothing Phone (4b) expands the company’s smartphone portfolio with a well-rounded device that emphasizes battery life, clean software, and distinctive design. While it doesn’t aim to compete with flagship smartphones, its combination of a 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, long software support, and the iconic Glyph lighting system makes it an attractive option for users seeking a stylish and dependable mid-range handset.

With competitive pricing and thoughtful regional optimizations, the Phone (4b) further strengthens Nothing’s presence in the increasingly crowded global mid-range smartphone market.
