Last year, Apple stunned the smartphone industry by launching the iPhone X with OLED display with a notch. Also, the smartphone came with a vertically dual camera setup along with a glass rear. This year Android smartphone OEMs have tried to copy the entire design of the iPhone X. The OnePlus 6 is one such smartphone that will be sporting a notched display design. It may not be sporting a top-left corner vertical dual camera like the iPhone X, but its recent teaser suggests that it will be arriving with a glass back.
Today, the official Weibo account of OnePlus released a new teaser that claims that the texture of the phone is transparent. The image that is present in the Weibo post gives a glimpse of the rear panel. It shows that corners of the OnePlus 6 are well rounded. The image suggests that the handset will be featuring a glass panel on its rear.
All the predecessor OnePlus phones have featured metal unibody design, but the OnePlus 6 is the first phone from the company that will be arriving with an overhaul improvement in the design. Glass panels can facilitate wireless charging. So, will the OnePlus 6 carry support for it? It seems unlikely as the company is yet to release a teaser on it.
The OnePlus 6 is likely to debut in India on May 18. Hence, it is speculated to get a global unveiling on the same day and it may get official in China within a week after May 18.
