Yesterday we were talking about a new model of OPPO called Reno that is around the corner and which did not know many details beyond that would have Snapdragon 855 and triple rear camera. It did not take long for the first leaks to appear with their appearance and more specifications.

The new brand was first presented on Weibo, but the OPPO Twitter account has confirmed that this new OPPO Reno will arrive in Spain shortly. Now we have an image and specifications after passing through the Singaporean certification, some of them contradictory.

Since the presentation yesterday, the official account of OPPO in Weibo a series of teasers accompanied by colorful posters that, apart from being quite beautiful, do not tell us much about the final product. Something more interesting is the publication by the president of OPPO, which gives some details about what OPPO Reno is. This is a rough translation of its publication :

After yesterday’s presentation, many friends ask me, where is it located? Good value for money? On-line? Submarket? I mean: OPPO Reno is a new line of creative product, different from any other OPPO product. A new philosophy of product, design and communication mode. Everything is new, from inside to outside.

As a lot of our fans helped us explain “Reno”, but in my opinion, why does Reno need to have a meaning? There is no concrete question as to why we created Reno. Everyone should have a Reno in their heart and we hope you like the new OPPO Reno we have created for you.

Reno opens the second decade of OPPO phones, so where is the new Reno? I believe that the biggest change is first of all the change of concept.

For example, in the past, we wanted to give users a camera that “embellished”. With Reno, we insist on real clarity. In doing a good job taking pictures, with emphasis on “what you see is what you get”. At the same time, we try to provide users with a “foolproof” camera, with artificial intelligence, but also with options for everyone.

As for the software. Color OS 6 will be more alive, both in colors and animations. Simple and clean, and without needing to mention that it will be fast and optimized for the best gaming experience, which is the ultimate goal. There are many, many changes that we will share with you.

The message is also a bit abstract – partly because of the difficulty of the translation – but it seems that OPPO Reno will be a change of philosophy for a more lively and simple product, possibly focused on young people.

Regarding its specifications, the certifications give us different details to those we originally believed. Officially OPPO has not given any data beyond the video where you see a mobile with three rear cameras, but by joining the certification of Singaporean IMDA and Bluetooth certification, we have some details.

The certification of the Singapore IMDA does not say any detail, although it links the model name CPH1917 with the OPPO Reno. This same model has also passed the Bluetooth SIG certification, and there are several key specifications :

CPH1917 is a mobile phone […] that uses Qualcomm SDM710 with 2 cores at 2.208 GHz + 6 cores at 1.708 GHz, with a high definition FHD + 6.4 “screen. […] CPH1917 uses a rear camera 48MP + 5MP and front of 16MP.

It could, therefore, be possible that the OPPO Reno had Snapdragon 710 instead of Snapdragon 855, and now we also have the detail of the screen, of 6.4 “and with FullHD resolution. The certification speaks of the dual rear camera instead of triple, which makes us think that there may be several OPPO Reno or one of the lenses is a TOF sensor or some other invention (footprint sensor?) because the truth is that it has a somewhat peculiar shape.
