Realme GT Neo 5 VS OnePlus Ace 2: Which is the Better Deal?

After the following year, the best models in the 2,000 yuan range are the Realme GT Neo 5 and the OnePlus Ace 2. As they have many similarities in configuration and price, users can find it challenging to choose between the two. However, I prefer the realme GT Neo5.

Display

There are many differences in the screen parameters of the two models. However, apart from the screen shape, the overall perception is insignificant. The realme GT Neo 5 is a flexible straight screen with 1.5K resolution, featuring 2160hz high-end PWM dimming and 144Hz touch sampling rate. The OnePlus Ace2 is a curved screen with 1.5K resolution, supporting 120Hz and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. In simple terms, the screen quality of the realme GT Neo5 will be slightly better. However, the cost of the curved screen of the OnePlus Ace2 is not low.

Hardware

Both models have Snapdragon 8+ processors manufactured by TSMC. They have balanced performance and power consumption. The realme GT Neo5 is a down-clocked version of Snapdragon 8+. While the extreme performance may be inferior, the difference in experience is not significant. The realme GT Neo 5 has an additional independent display chip and a 4500 mm² VC soaking plate.

In contrast, the OnePlus Ace2 has a 5177mm² VC soaking plate and features a superframe super picture engine, frame stabilization engine, and game cloud computing private network. Thus, although the two models have their advantages and disadvantages in simple games, OnePlus Ace will be slightly better. Especially for the deep optimization of Yuanshen, it is more friendly to users who love to play this game!

Cameras

The imaging functions are almost the same. Both models have a 16-megapixel selfie lens and a 50-megapixel outsole primary camera with a rear Sony IMX890 sensor. They both support OIS optical image stabilization. The only difference is the third make-up lens. The realme GT Neo5 uses a 2-megapixel microscopic lens, while the OnePlus Ace2 uses a 2-megapixel macro lens.

Battery

Realme GT Neo 5 is quite conscientious in this respect. It adopts two battery combinations: a 5000mAh battery with a 150W flash charge and a 4600mAh battery with a 240W super flash charge, leaving the user’s choice of battery life and charging speed. At the same time, OnePlus Ace2 is a 5000mAh battery with a 100W flash charge. The design of the rear cover of the realme GT Neo5 is quite innovative. There is an additional halo design on the lens cover, which can be designed with different colors and brightness according to the preferences of daily use and game scenes, and the playability is relatively high.

Verdict

The realme GT Neo 5 and OnePlus Ace 2 have many configuration differences. There is not much advantage when you come and go. However, the realme GT Neo 5 looks more balanced. The price of the same version is still relatively low, making it slightly cheaper and more cost-effective.
