Redmi K60 vs Redmi Note 12 Turbo: A Head-to-Head Comparison

Facebook Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr Email

Xiaomi’s Redmi series has always been at the forefront regarding cost-effective smartphones, offering feature-rich devices at affordable prices. In this article, we will compare two popular models from the Redmi series, the Redmi K60 and the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, to help you decide based on their hardware, display, camera, and battery performance.

    Display

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo features a 6.67-inch OLED display with 1080P resolution, providing a vibrant visual experience. It supports 12-bit color depth, 1920Hz high-frequency PW dimming, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring responsive touch controls.

The Redmi K60, however, takes the display quality up a notch. With a higher resolution of 3200X1440, this smartphone offers a stunning visual experience with sharp and vivid colors. The support for 12-bit color depth, 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate sets the Redmi K60 apart from its competitors in the same price range.

    Hardware

The Redmi K60 stands out with its Snapdragon 8+ processor, manufactured by TSMC. Even in its down-frequency version, this powerful chipset easily achieves a score of around 1.05 million in running points. It boasts a relatively strong performance, making it a dark horse SOC in the mid-range smartphone segment. Additionally, the power consumption of the Snapdragon 8+ is stable, ensuring a smooth and efficient user experience.

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo employs the second-generation Snapdragon 7+ processor. Although it is referred to as Qualcomm’s toothpaste-squeezing processor, it is still impressive with its 4nm process, coming close to the Snapdragon 8+ in terms of architecture. The entertainment rabbit running score of around 950,000 ensures a smooth gaming experience, making it an excellent choice for mobile gamers.

    Camera

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo and the Redmi K60 share almost identical camera specifications. They feature a 16-megapixel front camera for high-definition selfies. On the rear, a 64-megapixel primary camera is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Both models’ primary camera’s optical image stabilization (OIS) improves film stability and ensures more precise shots.

It’s important to note that mid-to-low-end models are generally sufficient for everyday photography needs. While the camera capabilities may not rival flagship smartphones, they still offer a satisfying user experience for capturing everyday moments.

    Battery and Charging

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo packs a respectable 5000mAh battery, which is quite common in Redmi smartphones. The 67W flash charging provides quick and efficient charging, ensuring you spend less time tethered to a charger.

In contrast, the Redmi K60 boasts a larger 5500mAh battery, providing extended battery life. It also supports 30W wireless charging, a high-end feature typically found in more expensive smartphones. Including the self-developed surging P1 charging chip ensures a safer and more reliable charging process.

    Verdict:

In conclusion, the Redmi K60 and the Redmi Note 12 Turbo are excellent, cost-effective smartphones catering to different user needs. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo offers a balanced overall performance, making it a competitive option in the thousand yuan price range. If you are looking for a reliable and budget-friendly smartphone, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo is a solid choice.

On the other hand, the Redmi K60 justifies its slightly higher price tag with substantial improvements in screen quality, performance, battery life, and the added convenience of wireless charging. For users with a more generous budget, the Redmi K60 is worth considering, as it offers a top-of-the-line display and powerful performance that surpasses its sibling model.

Ultimately, your choice between the Redmi K60 and the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will depend on your specific preferences and budget. Whether you prioritize a premium display and enhanced performance or seek a more economical option with reliable features, both these smartphones deliver excellent value for their respective price points.
