Igeekphone News, June 26th: Source @PandaFlashPro released a series of tweets on the X platform today (June 26th), revealing that both the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold7 phones adopt the brand-new S Pen technology.
Igeekphone quoted a blog post as saying that Samsung’s existing S Pen stylus solution adopts a passive design, but will encapsulate and embed a digital converter (digitizer) in the phone screen, which is responsible for converting touch into signals and then responding to the user’s handwriting operation.
This design scheme is relatively mature and can make the stylus smaller. However, as a sacrifice, on the one hand, there is the cost, and on the other hand, there is the stability. During the daily use process, some screen areas may not respond to the S Pen.
It was previously reported that Samsung was the first to deploy the new S Pen technology on the Galaxy Z Fold7, adopting an active stylus solution.
The latest news indicates that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will also follow the above-mentioned plan, meaning that although this flagship model launched by Samsung next year supports the S Pen, it no longer has an embedded stylus slot and needs to be carried separately.
The source also pointed out that by removing the digital converter, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will also have a built-in Qi2 coil. Unlike existing models, it does not need to be paired with a phone case to achieve Qi2 magnetic charging.
