Counterpoint estimates that global smartphone shipments in Q4 last year were 410 million, a slight increase of 1%.

Last year, under pressure from the United States, Huawei, supported by the Chinese market, shipped 240 million units over Apple’s 197 million units. Data show that Huawei holds nearly 40% of the Chinese smartphone market.

Xiaomi and Oppo are ranked 4th and 5th among global smartphone manufacturers in 2019. Strategy Analytics’ market share figures are 8.8% and 8.1% respectively, and Counterpoint is 8% in the same column, showing that the gap between the two is extremely small.
