Igeekphone, January 29th: 2026 is regarded as the commercialization year of 2nm chips. The four major players – Qualcomm, Apple, MediaTek, and Samsung – have all entered the 2nm manufacturing process. Among them, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series will adopt the TSMC 2nm process, making it Qualcomm’s first 2nm mobile chip.
It is reported that all the flagship models in the second half of this year will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 flagship platform. Among them, the REDMI K100 Pro Max will be included. This will be the most powerful high-end flagship of REDMI.
The leak indicates that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 series is manufactured using TSMC’s N2P process and features a 2+3+3 architecture design. The maximum frequency of the super core could potentially exceed 5GHz, and the benchmark scores will once again set a new record in the Android camp.

In addition to the first batch of commercial Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 series, the REDMI K100 Pro Max is also testing 200 million pixels. According to the blogger’s revelation, most sub-series flagship models will be equipped with 200 million pixels. Some will apply it to the wide-angle main camera, while others will apply it to the telephoto long-focus. For REDMI, this is the first 200 million-pixel flagship in the K series.
Another point worth mentioning is that due to the significant increase in the costs of 2nm chips and memory, the flagship phones in the second half of this year may trigger another round of price hikes. Therefore, it is not ruled out that the price of REDMI K100 Pro Max might rise again. PS: The initial starting price of REDMI K90 Pro Max is 3,999 yuan.
