Igeekphone News, July 28th: The handheld console YouTube creator The Phawx (PhawxTV) disclosed the complete parameter specification table of GPD WIN 5, an x86 handheld console based on AMD’s “Strix Halo” platform with an ultra-large memory bit width and integrated graphics, last week.
The uniqueness of this device lies in its absence of a built-in battery, which frees up more space for the dual-fan + four-heat pipe cooling system to “suppress” the “Strix Halo” that generates more heat than traditional handheld console SoCs. The previous official promotional video has shown that GPD WIN 5 supports a performance release of 55 to 61W in “Black Myth: Wukong”.

In terms of power supply, the GPD WIN 5 adopts an external 80Wh battery module (to be purchased separately) or a wired plug-in solution.
GPD WIN 5 can choose the flagship AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 or the lower Ryzen AI Max 385 processor. The latter has halved its CPU specification to 8 cores but retains a GPU of 32CU scale, resulting in relatively smaller performance losses in gaming. It is expected to become a more cost-effective choice.
GPD equipped Windows 5 with a 7-inch native landscape screen, supporting a resolution of 1920×1080, a refresh rate of 120Hz, ten-point touch, a response time of 6ms, and a color gamut coverage of 100% sRGB.

In terms of storage, it is equipped with 32GB / 64GB / 128GB LPDDR5x-8000 memory, providing 1 M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0×4 NVMe solid-state drive slot and 1 SD 3.0 UHS-I card reader. In addition, IT also includes a dedicated slot compatible with the Biwin Mini SSD module (Igeekphone Note: PCIe 4.0× 1,1600 MB/s sequential read and write).
GPD WIN 5 provides two USB-Cs supporting DP Alt externally. One of them has a bandwidth of 40Gbps and can be plugged in. In addition, it is equipped with a 2000MHz return rate joystick, Hall effect triggers, and programmable back keys.
