Recently, we checked the MHRA’s database of e-cigarette product bulletins and found that VEEV, an e-cigarette brand under PMI International, announced 32 new SKUs in early May this year. These new SKUs have completed the public notice process with the UK Food and Drug Regulatory Authority, indicating that they have obtained marketing authorization and have now officially entered the UK market for sale.
We checked the official website of IQOS in the UK region under PMI and found that VEEV has NOW stopped selling the disposable e-cigarette VEEV NOW. Meanwhile, the VEEV ONE device and cartridge series have been officially launched.
In early May, VEEV publicized 32 SKUs in the MHRA e-cigarette inquiry system of the United Kingdom. These new SKUs were all applied for registration by PHILIP MORRIS PRODUCTS SA, namely Philip Morris Products Company. The involved brands include VEEV ONE SE, VEEV ONE and VEEV. Specifically speaking:
VEEV ONE SE and VEEV ONE: Rechargeable e-cigarette mainframe equipment
VEEV ONE SE and VEEV ONE are two SKUs for e-cigarette devices. The product type is “Rechargeable e-cigarette, device-only”, and it is pointed out that any rechargeable device that can be refilled should be classified as the refilled category. This indicates that these are replaceable e-cigarette mainframe devices rather than subtypes of e-liquid (or cartridges) with specific flavors or nicotine content.
VEEV cartrid-flavored cigarettes: 30 SKUs with nicotine concentrations of 1.8% and 1.6% respectively
The remaining 30 SKU product types under the VEEV brand are “refilling containers/cartridges containing e-liquid”, indicating that these are e-liquid refilling containers or pre-filled cartridges for e-cigarette devices.
VEEV cartrid-flavored cigarettes can be classified into fruit flavor, mint/cool flavor, tobacco flavor, etc.
The nicotine content of most flavors of VEEV cartrids is 1.8%, including tobacco and mint flavors. For example, the nicotine concentration of VELVETY MINT, BALANCED TOBACCO, FINE TOBACCO, BLENDED TOBACCO, MELLOW TOBACCO, SEA MINT and GREEN MINT is 1.6%.
The VEEV ONE kit, which contains two cartrpers, has landed in the UK market
The parameter information shows that the number of suction ports of the VEEV ONE kit is 2,000. Both VEEV ONE and VEEV ONE SE use ceramic heating. The charging time is 45 minutes. The brand claims that both the device and the cartrids are recyclable. The information on the official website states, “Recycle any e-cigarette product and you can get a £5 voucher.”
The VEEV ONE series products are all sold on the IQOS official website. Currently, the official website showcases 14 flavors of cartridels to choose from, mainly covering fruit, mint and classic tobacco flavors, and the nicotine content of all cartridels is 1.8% (i.e. 20 milligrams per milliliter).
At present, The VEEV ONE series products have landed on the IQOS official website and have been simultaneously launched on the websites of e-cigarette dealers targeting the UK region such as The Electric Tobacconist, Vape UK, and Sainsburys. It is learned that the first release date of this series of products is September 2024.
