Of course, there are still folding phones that need to adopt a flip design, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy W20 series, Motorola blade Razr, and so on. In addition to Samsung and Motorola, some Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi and Huawei have also registered similar appearance patents before, but so far there is no intention to launch a flip and fold screen Smartphone.
But, according to the Tianyancha APP, the Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. obtained a “Smartphone” appearance patent authorization on July 2 with the announcement number CN306654732S, and the application date is April 2020. The name of the device is not known, but there is speculation about the name Xiaomi Mi MIX Flip.
As we can see, the patent abstract shows that this design product is used for mobile communication, camera, network, and multimedia applications. The main design point of this device: lies in the shape, including the shape of the product displayed in two changing states.
Besides, from these images, we can read that the backside will belong to three cameras in an interesting round module. The front has a double space for a selfie camera, on the bottom we find a hole for a speaker and a USB Type-C charging port.
