Every year comes out a list from the US-based Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies. For the 2016 the list that just came out has two of China’s tech companies, Xiaomi and Huawei among the world’s top 50 most innovative companies. According to the survey, companies like Apple, Google, Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon and Netflix occupy the top six spots in the annual poll almost every year. To be more accurate, Apple is topping the list for the 11th straight year running.
Apple seems to win every time this position because of the huge amount of money that spends every year on research and development. Only for the 2016, is reported that spend $10 million. Google who is on the second position, is there due to its huge investment in research and development of its workforce.
Coming to China, on the 35th position we find Xiaomi. The company managed to beat companies like Dell, Honda, Intel, and even fellow compatriot Huawei. The company last year, came out with a big number of innovative gadgets. I guess you all agree that the most impressive was the Mi Mix with its bezel-less display. Apart from that, the company always try to help smaller companies to gain recognition by giving them their platform to launch their products.
Huawei on the other hand, is found at number 46 in the list of the most innovative companies last year, Huawei also presented to us a number of new smartphones last year bringing on board, some innovative features as well.
