Smartphones from the Xiaomi Mi 11 series are still firmly on the market, but the manufacturer is already working on the next generation of its flagship series. More traces of the phone, identified as Xiaomi Mi 12, have appeared on the network.
Chinese sources MyDrivers and Digital Chat Station are reporting new traces of Xiaomi phones. First of all, a Xiaomi phone with the code 2112123AC was found in the international IMEI database. At the same time, another symbol appears in the leaks – 2201122C. The former is identified as Xiaomi Mi 12, but the latter also belongs to the Mi 12 line.
According to these sources, Xiaomi Mi 12 will be equipped with the Qualcomm SM8450 chip, i.e. the still undisclosed chipset, which will most likely come out on the market as Snapdragon 895, the successor of Snapdragon 888.
You can guess that with such a unit Xiaomi will be tempted to have a solid memory reserve – so 12 and 16GB of RAM and 256 and 512GB of internal memory. The smartphone is also to receive a screen with an LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 2K and a variable refreshing from 1 to 120 Hz. It is possible that it will be equipped with a selfie camera hidden under the screen.
The main camera in Mi 12 is to have a resolution of up to 200MP. Most likely, it is a Samsung S5KGND sensor that has already appeared in previous leaks with a physical size of 1 / 1.37 inch and individual pixels of 1.28 micrometers. The matrix is to allow for combining pixels in a 16 to 1 aspect ratio.
According to the report, the alleged Xiaomi Mi 12 will also support 120W fast charging and 100W wireless fast charging. Another version says about 67W charging and 120W charging in the Mi 12 Ultra model.
In the latest reports on the new Xiaomi Mi 12 series, there was also a 192MP camera, also with combining pixels in the 16 to 1 aspect ratio, it is not known whether it is the same sensor or two different ones. The sources also mention the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra model with identical specifications. The differences may be related to the richer camera specifications, for example the periscope telephoto lens in the Ultra model.
The premiere of Xiaomi Mi 12 on the Chinese market is to take place in December 2021, as was the case with Xiaomi Mi 11. The phone will not reach us until 2022.
