Xiaomi Mi Band 4 possesses many changes from appearance to features compared to Mi Band 3, especially the ability to measure electrocardiogram like the high-end Apple Watch 4.
According to the leaked image, it can be seen that Mi Band 4 is equipped with a rectangular screen with thick edges, protected by curved glass. The concave button of Mi Band 3 has been replaced by a capacitive touch button below the screen.
Heart rate sensors may be better than their predecessors. Mi Band 4 is said to also have two versions including a regular version and an NFC- supported version (exclusive in China) with a slightly higher price.
In particular, capable Xiaomi will equip this year’s Mi Band an ECG electrocardiographic tracking sensor like Apple Watch Series 4, or PPG volumetric optical heart rate sensor. In addition, Mi Band 4 will also be upgraded to the new Bluetooth 5.0 standard to enable energy saving and more efficient connectivity.
Another big change is that the charging position, instead of on the side, has been brought down to the bottom, which means the Mi Band 4 cannot use the Mi Band 3 charger cable and strap in addition. on the Mi Band 4 also comes with larger battery capacity – 135mAh, compared to 110mAh of Mi Band 3.
