Recently, Xiaomi has released Xiaomi MI MAX 2 smartphone with Snapdragon 625 processor and 5300mAh battery, which has made MI MAX 2 become the most powerful smartphone. As for design, it is similar to Xiaomi MI MAX, but different in details, such as back cover using metal unibody, adopting U style antenna line, but the fingerprint scanner still set up on the back.
As for specs, it adopts 6.44 inch 1080p screen, built in RAM 4GB ROM 64GB/128GB internal storage, and it has dual camera, 5MP front and 12MP back with IMX386 sensor, supporting dual SIM card, dual standby, netcom.
After Xiaomi MI MAX 2 released not long, we have seen its tear down, let’s see if it’s worthwhile to have a try.
First, in terms of appearance, Xiaomi MI MAX 2 is more exquisite, the details has reduced bold lines, more delicate.
Second, in terms of simple tear-down, Xiaomi MI MAX 2 has no big specialty in its structure, it is not difficult to tear down. take SIM card out, unscrew the fixed screws at the bottom.
Third, due to large screen size, it is much easier to use suction cups, there is a gap and use hands to open the screen.
We need to know that there is a fingerprint scanner module flat cable between detachable back and screen, after disconnecting it, the back cover can be taken off.
Xiaomi MI MAX 2 uses standard three-step design, so the tear-down order is mainboard, vice board and battery.
There is a metal back cover outside of the mainboard, considering protection and Heat dissipation, before tearing down, you need to remove the graphite radiator from the outer layer, and the fixed metal cover screws are almost the mainboard fixed screws.
Then disconnect battery, screen, power button,main printed circuit board, touch chips BTB connector, there is a rf line needs to be disconnected, including front camera which can be also removed.
After finishing those steps, the mainboard can’t be removed, because there is the other screws near the top of de-noising microphone.
Removing the fixed sound cavity screws, we can see two lines of sound hole, in fact, it has a line of microphone.
When we see the logo of COMPEQ on the mainboard, we can know Xiaomi MI MAX 2 PCB supplier, COMPEQ MANUFACTURING CO., LTD from Taiwan, which is also an old PCB manufacturer.
Xiaomi MI MAX 2 uses 5,300mAh battery, there is half square occupied by the battery. In order to make it thin, the battery is also very thin.
The mainboard shielding cover is sealed, one of the shield is covered with graphite heat sink,
Xiaomi MI MAX 2 doesn’t use many kinds of screws, only two sets, one sets is for fixing the back cover, whether the mainboard inside or the sound cavity at the bottom, using same fixed screws, convenient to tear down.
