How to Update Xiaomi Mi Mix:
There are two popular methods which lets you install latest updates on your Mi Mix device – Recovery method & Fastboot method. Of both the methods, update via recovery is quite quick and easy.
Updating via Recovery Method:
Download MIUI ROM from Xiaomi official forum on your PC/Computer and copy it to your “Download” folder on your device. Make sure to download latest version of the ROM.
Now you need to go to app drawer and launch “Updater” App. Tap on “3 dots” located at the top right corner and choose “Choose update package”. Here you need to select the Recovery ROM zip file which you have copied to Download folder. Confirm and your device will automatically reboots and flash the Recovery ROM accordingly.
Now you have successfully flashed MIUI 8 Global/China ROM on your Xiaomi Mi Mix.
Updating via Fastboot Method:
It is another method which lets you flash MIUI 8 ROM on your device. Before starting with the process, make sure to download necessary files and full-fill all the below requirements.
Pre-requisites:
- Make sure to enable USB Debugging and Developer options from Settings.
- Disable Driver Signature Enforcementin Window 7/8/10 64-bit
- Battery level should be maintained to at least 85% or more.
- Backup all your important data using third party backup app.
- Setup ADB & Fastboot Drivers on your PC.

How to flash Fastboot ROM using Mi Flash tool:
Boot your device into EDL (Emergency Download Mode) and connect to PC. Open Mi Flash tool and tap on ‘Select’. Here you need to go to fastboot ROM folder and choose “images” folder and click OK to add the address.
Tap on ‘Refresh’ button on the Mi Flash tool to confirm the connection between PC and device. Finally, click on “Flash” button to start the flashing process. It takes about 3-4 minute for it complete, so keep patience and wait.
That’s it! Now you will see ‘success’ message which indicates that the ROM has been flashed on your mobile.
