Xiaomi MI4 as a class smartphone of Xiaomi has got latest upgrade by developers, in 2015, Microsoft once gave Windows 10 Mobile ROM to Xiaomi MI4, but something happened to make this upgrade become nothing.
From the end of 2017 to the beginning of 2018, Lumia smartphones open unlock Bootloader in public, there are many customized ROM on this smartphone to run perfectly, for example, there are hackers who have run Windows 10 for ARM OS on Lumia 1520 successfully.
According to WMPU today, Roman Linev, a hacker from Russia has upgraded Xiaomi MI4 to Windows PE OS. Windows PE(Preinstalled Environment) is the smallest Win32 OS, meanwhile it can run graphic interface which can be regarded as the simple version of Windows, now it is often used to fix issues like bricked, reboot, backup, etc by fans.
Although loading the system will have a short mistake notice, Roman said it will not affect, and emphasized it is absolutely the first time to use WinPE on Xiaomi MI4.
According to Roman, he believe Xiaomi MI4 will become a master to use different ROMs like HTC HD2, so in the near future, a phone to use WIndows 10 for ARM to run exe files will be achieved soon.
