Igeekphone News, June 9th: MEMS micro-electromechanical enterprise xMEMS Labs released the Sycamore-W near-field MEMS speaker last month. This product is only 1.28mm thick and weighs only 150mg, which are approximately 30% and about 5% of traditional coil speakers respectively.
Sycamore-W is specifically designed for smartwatches, fitness bands and other space-constrained smart wristwear devices. It measures 20mm×4mm in length and width, reducing the space occupied inside the case by 70% compared to traditional designs, while still providing high-quality, full-range µFidelity high-fidelity audio.
In addition, due to its all-silicon physical properties, Sycamore W features component-level IP58 dust and water resistance and resistance to 10,000g mechanical shock, making it suitable for sports and outdoor smartwatches and fitness bands.
Igeekphone learned that Sycamore-W has now provided samples to early customers and is expected to enter mass production in the second quarter of 2026. xMEMS will also release more Sycamore series products optimized for other specific applications in the second half of this year.
