Xplora Go Pad Leak Reveals Snapdragon 685, 8.7-Inch Display and Child-Safety Features

Xplora Go Pad has reportedly appeared in an early leak ahead of its official launch, giving us a first look at a tablet designed specifically for children and family use. The device is believed to be produced by HMD Global for Norwegian brand Xplora, with its focus extending beyond basic tablet functions to include education, parental supervision, and safer access to online content.

According to information shared by tipster smashx_60, the Xplora Go Pad could arrive with hardware that is relatively modest by 2026 standards. The tablet is reportedly powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 mobile platform chipset and is designed primarily for controlled educational and family use rather than high-end performance.

    8.7-Inch Display and Rugged Design

The leaked Xplora Go Pad is expected to feature an 8.7-inch IPS LCD display, giving it a compact form factor that should be easier for younger users to handle than larger tablets.

Durability also appears to be an important part of the design. The device is reportedly rated IP65, offering protection against dust and water exposure. It is also said to be capable of surviving a drop from a height of up to 1 meter, which could be useful for a tablet intended for children.

Charging support is reportedly limited to 18W, suggesting that the Go Pad is positioned as an affordable and practical family device rather than a performance-focused tablet.

Snapdragon 685 Provides the Processing Power

Under the hood, the Xplora Go Pad is rumored to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 mobile platform. The chip is manufactured using a 6nm process and features an octa-core CPU configuration consisting of four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores.

The chipset also supports 4G LTE connectivity, rather than 5G. While the Snapdragon 685 is not a new platform, its combination of relatively low power consumption and integrated cellular connectivity could make sense for an affordable children’s tablet.

For everyday activities such as educational applications, video playback, web browsing, communication, and parental-management software, the hardware may be sufficient. However, users should not expect the Go Pad to compete with modern high-performance tablets in gaming or demanding multitasking.

    Built Around Parental Controls

Hardware is only part of the Xplora Go Pad’s appeal. The tablet reportedly comes with several software features designed specifically for children and their parents.

    These reportedly include:

    • Adult-content filtering
    • Parental controls
    • Educational AI features
    • Internet access management
    • Screen and usage restrictions
    • Family-oriented safety features

These tools could allow parents to have greater control over what their children can access online while still giving them access to educational content and selected digital services.

This approach fits closely with Xplora’s existing focus on connected products designed for children and families.

HMD Global and Xplora Continue Their Partnership

The Xplora Go Pad is reportedly another result of the collaboration between HMD Global and Xplora. The two companies have previously worked together on the Xplora Fusion X1 smartphone, a device built around children’s safety and family management.

The Fusion X1 platform allows parents to manage internet and social-media access, control who their children can communicate with, establish approved contacts, limit screen time, and use location-tracking features.

With the Go Pad, the same general philosophy could be expanded from smartphones into the tablet category. Instead of simply providing a conventional Android tablet, Xplora appears to be targeting families that want stronger controls over how younger users interact with connected devices.

Xplora Go Pad Release Date and Price

At this stage, the Xplora Go Pad remains an unconfirmed product. Neither Xplora nor HMD Global has officially announced the tablet or confirmed the leaked specifications.

Pricing, availability, launch markets, RAM and storage configurations, camera specifications, battery capacity, operating system version, and other detailed specifications have yet to be revealed.

If these leaked specifications prove accurate, the Xplora Go Pad could target families looking for a practical tablet that prioritizes child protection and parental supervision over high-end performance. Its combination of 4G connectivity, a compact display, rugged construction, and built-in safety tools could give it a distinct position in the children’s tablet market.

However, key details about the Xplora Go Pad remain unknown. The company has yet to confirm its launch date, pricing, availability, or complete hardware specifications. Until Xplora or HMD Global makes an official announcement, the leaked information should be viewed as an early indication of the tablet rather than its final specifications.
