YotaPhone 3 (of Yota 3) ( Yotafon 3 ) – the third generation of the smartphone with two active screens, developed by the Russian company of Yota Devices’.
The network has information on the technical characteristics of the new YotaPhone with two screens. Also, portal Engadget learned the timing of the sales of the device.
The smartphone will receive 5.5-inch main AMOLED- display with a resolution of FullHD, as well as a 5.2-inch additional HD-screen, made on technology E-Ink, on the back cover. Installed YOTA OS consists of Android and serving e-ink display proprietary OS of Russian developers.
YotaPhone 3 will receive a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and four gigabytes of RAM. A similar process is installed in ASUS ZenFone 3 and Moto Z Play. The battery capacity is 3200 milliamps-hours. Also, the device will be equipped with a USB Type-C port for charging and a slot for two SIM cards.
YotaPhone 3 was presented on June 16 as part of the IV Russian-Chinese Expo in Harbin, China. The smartphone will be released in two versions: with a drive for 64 and 128 gigabytes at a price of 350 and 450 dollars, respectively. Sales will begin in October-November 2017.
August 23, 2017, in the Russian Embassy in Beijing, was the official presentation of the third generation of the smartphone YotaPhone, developed by the domestic company Yota Devices. During the event, it was announced that the development of the device lasted 10 months, and more than 100 specialists from Russia and China took part in the process of its creation. During the presentation, the characteristics of YotaPhone 3 were announced, the dates for the start of sales and registration in the purchase queue were announced.
The key feature of YotaPhone 3, as well as its predecessors, was the availability of two displays: the main color and additional monochrome, made on the technology of electronic ink. The main 5.5-inch display is made by Super AMOLED technology, while the additional E-Ink screen has a diagonal of 5.2 inches. The second display is designed to read e-books or any other information, allowing you to significantly save the device’s charge. In addition, reading from the E-Ink screen is less tedious and harmful to the eyes. In China, the smartphone will come with popular e-book reader services, including China Reading, reader, Lebook, and Migu.
The performance of the YotaPhone 3 is the responsibility of the Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM. The amount of internal storage is 64 or 128 GB, depending on the modification. Cameras in the smartphone are traditionally two: 13 and 12 megapixels. In this case, a special sensor helps the smartphone determine which screen the device will turn to the user to turn it on when activated. Under the main display is located a fingerprint scanner.
Other characteristics of YotaPhone 3 include a battery capacity of 3,200 mAh, support for two SIM-cards and Android Nougat as a pre-installed operating system. Also on the images, you can see that the smartphone does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Initially, the device will go on sale in the Chinese market under the name YOTA3. Later it will appear in Russia and in other countries but will be called YotaPhone 3. September 5 will begin registration in the queue for the purchase of expensive modification of YOTA3 in the Chineses Top Online Shops, and from September 19 there will be available for purchase all modifications. After that, YOTA3 will be available at retail. In Russia and other countries, the smartphone will be on sale closer to the end of the year.
