Today Xiaomi officially launched its next-generation router- Mi router 4 on the official website, the router has been priced at 199 Yuan (about $31), and it will go on sale in China at the same time on May 25th at 10:00 am through Xiaomi Mall, Youpin, Tmall, Jingdong, Suning and other platforms.
According to the official introduction, Xiaomi Mi router 4 is called “fiber-level full-gigabit smart router.” Its shape is very rounded and flat, only providing a white color, the indicator light is located at the edge of the center, a total of red, yellow, blue three colors.
Xiaomi Mi router 4 is equipped with a WAN port and two LAN ports, and a reset button and power connector are also provided on the back. At the bottom, a large hole design is used. In addition, Mi router 4 uses a large area of aluminum-magnesium alloy heat sinks and high thermal conductivity thermal paste to facilitate the body heat.
Xiaomi’s this router uses 4 omnidirectional high-gain antenna design, peak speed up to 1167Mbps, it has a built-in 128MB RAM + 128MB Flash memory, while equipped with an MT7621A MIPS dual-core processor clocked at 880MHz, compared to the single-core chip speed of the previous Mi router 3 faster.
In addition, Millet Router 4 added MiNET functionality, designed MiNET buttons for the networking access needs of smart devices such as Xiaomi and Mijia, and supported the MIOT Fast Wi-Fi Connection Protocol. The new smart devices are no longer needed during initial networking. The complicated network setting operation in the APP allows the smart device to quickly connect to the router by pressing the MiNET button.
According to official data, the download speed of Xiaomi Router 4 has a clear advantage over Xiaomi Router 3. At speeds of 200Mbps, 300Mbps, and 500Mbps, the speeds are 25MB/s, 37.5MB/s, and 62.5MB/s, respectively, far exceeding the previous 12.5MB/s. In addition, Mi router 4 can support up to 128 smart devices connected at the same time, but this is only the limit of the laboratory test, the official proposal is best not to exceed 64 units.
As an intelligent router, Mi router 4 certainly supports APP control. Xiaomi added more than ten kinds of functions to the “Tool Box” in the Xiaomi Router APP, such as one-button speed measurement, WiFi optimization, flood prevention network, etc., which can be said to be quite convenient.
