The best games you can play on your mobile

Brady CottonBy Brady CottonJuly 20, 2018
Facebook Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr Email

By 2020, gaming experts are predicting that the revenues from mobile apps will exceed £170 billion. Yes, you read that right – billion! So if you somehow weren’t aware, mobile apps are a pretty big deal and a hugely lucrative business. You can check gaming services here.

The popularity of the market has made things a little tougher for consumers though, back in the day everyone knew about DoodleJump because there weren’t that many other apps to download. Now there are hundreds and thousands of different games all available at the tip of your finger. By the way, you can also enjoy Indian free spins .

So how on earth can you be expected to go onto the App Store and make an informed choice on what to download? You can’t, unless you read our list of must-have mobile games below.

    Oceanhorn

    Creators: FDG Entertainment
    Platform: Android
    Released: 2016
Suitable for: Legend of Zelda fans
    Price: Free

This game is fast becoming a cult-classic among mobile gaming enthusiasts, and some gamers are even opting to play this game more than they would play a traditional console game.

The basis of the story is that your character wakes up one day to discover his father has disappeared. In order to find him, you’ll have to make sense of two clues left for you and battle your way through the Unchartered Islands fighting off monsters and villains, solving puzzles and unveiling mysteries.

The game is free to download, but after playing the first chapter you’ll be asked to pay £4.99 to carry on playing the full version. That’s a very small price in our opinion as this game just keeps giving and giving.

The compelling storyline and gameplay are reminiscent of that old classic Legend of Zelda, and it will have you craving for more.

    Soccer Physics

    Creators: WBG
    Platform: Android & iPhone
    Released: 2016
    Suitable for: FIFA fans
    Price: Free

While it’s clear the target audience for this game is FIFA fans, in truth it’s a game that appeals to everyone – even those with little to no interest in the beautiful game.

Soccer Physics is single player or two player and the aim of the game is to score more goals than your opponent. Sounds simple right? Wrong. This game is incredibly challenging because your players react like they’re in a gravity free zone, flailing and falling around like rag dolls.

The movement of your players leads to hilarious moments and crazy goals, understanding the physics of this game could prove to be a stretch too far for even Albert Einstein.

    888 Live game

    Operator: 888 game
Platform: Desktop and all mobile devices
Suitable for: Gambling enthusiasts and technology lovers
    Price: Free to register

Normally you have to download a clunky app to access an online game and play a watered down version of game.

But this game takes online gambling to the next level by allowing players to watch and participate in live roulette in three ways. There’s the classic view we’ve described above, but then there are the 3D and immersive view options.

The immersive view is probably the best as it uses multi-lens Hollywood-style cameras to make players feel like they’re within touching distance of the action. It brings a human touch to the online gambling experience, making the gameplay feel more immersive and real. You can even talk to the dealers and other competitors, and because the games are played with real cards and real balls (if you’re playing roulette) you can even employ tricks like card-counting – which isn’t usually possible in RNG-powered online game.

With roulette you can win big off just one spin – making it one of the most popular online games out there. And here you’ll be able to see and hear the ball rolling around the wheel as if you were sat only inches away. Convenience is one of the main attractions here too, as you can play this on various devices – so you can feel like you’re in a real game whether you’re at home or on the move. If you enjoy roulette, you need to check out live roulette with real dealers now to see these big benefits for yourself.

    Into the Dead

    Creators: PIKPOK Action
    Platform: Android & iPhone
    Released: 2017
Suitable for: Fans of the Walking Dead
    Price: Free

If you’re a zombie action fan and you’re looking for a game to mirror your passions you’ll probably be drawn to the official Walking Dead app, but don’t act so soon! Give Into the Dead a look before you make any drastic decisions.

This app has had over 70 million downloads worldwide since its initial release and it is probably, pound for pound, the best mobile game out there. The graphics from Into the Dead wouldn’t look out of place on PS4 or Xbox One and would amaze any time-travellers from the late 90s.

The story arc of the game offers the player a multitude of different outcomes based on their in game decisions and as well as running away from zombies and shooting at them, you can take control of cars, tanks and even planes. A simply stunning game.

    Motorsport Manager

    Creators: Christian West Racing
    Platform: Android
    Released: 2018
    Suitable for: Formula One fans
    Price: Free

Management games are incredibly popular and even more so on mobile devices that can’t replicate the graphics of purpose made consoles. Football Manager hasn’t really succeeded as a mobile app because of the lack of detail which is synonymous with the PC game.

However, there haven’t been many Formula One management games, so Motorsport Manager is leading the way here somewhat. You’ll take charge of everything, from research and development to hiring and firing drivers and engineers and choosing new cars. It’s the perfect game for a long bus journey and it won’t drain your battery as much as other games.

    PUBG Mobile

    Creators: Tencent Games
    Platform: Android
    Released: 2018
Target audience: Shoot ‘em up fans
    Price: Free

PUBG and Fortnite have taken the world by storm in the last 12 months and have become two of the most popular games on the planet. The original Battle Royale game PUBG is now available on mobile and it’s 100% worth downloading.

The graphics obviously aren’t as sharp as they are on console, but they’re not too far off and the gameplay is pretty good, too. There’s a huge list of ever updating realistic weapons with lifelike trajectories to add to the appeal of the game.

You’ll need a good internet connection because, as you’ll be aware, PUBG is an online game only with no single player option. You’ll be parachuted into a game with 99 other players and battle it out to the very end.

PUBG is probably the best example of a console game transferring to mobile without losing any integrity – and also managing to keep the appeal of online gameplay.
