The next top-of-the-line Xiaomi phone will be the Mi 9. The Android generation began to pay more attention in the rumors about this device after dividing the Redmi brand and Xiaomi. Although there is no official statement on the design and features of the next smartphone, we received some interesting notes this week by courtesy of the company itself.
Xiaomi product director Wang Teng confirmed through the Weibo social network that the Xiaomi Mi 9 will be designed by the same designer of Mi 6, Mi Liu. To recap, the Mi 6 uses a curved or ceramic glass as the main material of the fuselage.
At the Mi 6 conference, the company also introduced the Silver Mercurial version, which uses a special curved glass on all four edges. After several polishing processes, the whole design becomes more harmonious, making the cell phone very beautiful and rare. That’s why the device has won several design awards in 2017.
However, the manufacturing process of the Silver Edition Mercurial was very strict because the mirrored glass along with the stainless steel should be perfect. It is also integrated into a cleaner galvanizing process, with only 10K of an output.
According to Wang Teng, at least in design, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will have something in common with the brother Mi 6. Probably the new phone will have a silver version that refers to the model of the sixth generation of the Mi family – except for the edges that can be the next device.
