    Why Gaming Laptops are Better

Brady CottonBy Brady CottonOctober 24, 2019

There are numerous reasons gaming laptops are better than regular work laptops. Mostly it is about the increased performance and robust systems. Gaming laptops are not just used to play games. Due to the nature of the resource-heavy applications that the laptop hosts, the hardware used in their construction are of higher capability and more rugged quality. Comparing a regular laptop to a gaming laptop is like comparing a military tank to a subcompact civilian car. The former is faster, stronger, and more robust than the latter.

The Razer Blade Pro 17, a gaming laptop

Even though regular laptops have come a long way since they were first introduced, they are still designed for basic operations. Basic office tasks are predominantly driven by text document authoring, presentation creation, and spreadsheet calculation. The typical present-day laptop is more than capable of handling these simple tasks in low-data environments.

However, when it comes to resource-heavy tasks like audio and video manipulation the regular computer grinds to a crawl.

The content that the average user is exposed to these days has changed significantly and now includes the streaming of video and audio regularly. All this translates to the need for higher processing power and memory, as well as hard drives that hold more, write faster, and retrieve quicker. Compared to the regular laptop the gaming laptop is superior in all these areas.

Even if you are not a gamer, graphic manipulation on a gaming machine is significantly better and faster than on regular laptops. Regular laptops have comparatively weak graphics processing capability. Image editing, video splicing, and audio manipulation will crash the computer because there is significant demand placed on the CPU.

Where does the gaming computer come into all this? Gaming computers are built to handle high-performance graphics. That means they come with added components. One, in particular, is something called the GPU – the Graphic Processor Unit. It is the same in some ways as the CPU (Central Processing Unit) except it handles only the graphic end of your computer’s functions.

To play games on the computer, the CPU sends all the graphic processing requirements to the GPU and keeps all the other processing to itself. This division of workload allows the computer to speed up and deliver better images, superior sound, and a smoother experience. Not only do movies look and feel better, but the sound quality is also better on a gaming computer and so is the online surfing experience. but if you are more into music than gaming you should go for best sounding laptops for listening to music because as merely the name is expressing qualities of a gaming laptop, it is specified for gaming.

The GPU and a more robust CPU are not the only advantages of a gaming laptop. There is also a higher amount of RAM installed to be able to keep up with the anticipated workload. If a normal laptop only has 4 GB of RAM, it is not uncommon for entry-level gaming machines to have 16GB of RAM and that’s just on the CPU, there is usually another four to eight Gigabytes of VRAM (Video RAM) on the GPU). When you put this and the processing power together, what you find is a better experience and fewer lags and crashes.

Gaming laptops also have high-end GPUs installed. To differentiate the regular laptops from the gaming ones, you will find many of them with high-end components in their systems.

Aside from performance, gaming laptops also use more robust parts in their architecture. It is a great laptop for your work and play needs. Aside from performance, gaming laptops also use more robust parts in their architecture. That translates to better ability to withstands rough handling and wear and tear. Even the keyboard uses better keys and better spring mechanisms to support constant tapping. The onboard trackpad also has increased functionality and resolution.

The main difference under the hood of the two laptops is the increase specifications of the thermal hardware. Better cooling mechanisms, faster fans with more blades and power to force are in and out of the chassis in the gamin laptops allow increased performance. This combines with the high-quality components also make the laptop more durable and longer-lasting. All in all the added cost of the gaming laptop more than pays for itself when you consider its ease of use, superior performance, and elevated experience.

The bottom line when it comes to the comparison of the regular laptop and the gaming laptop is that the latter is designed and optimized for significantly higher performance under gaming conditions which can be used in non-gaming environments to great effect.
