Motorola Moto G8 Final Specification Confirmed By XDA

Motorola does not face the best days in terms of popularity in the smartphone market. After launching the Moto G8 Plus and Moto G8 Play, it is preparing to reveal new devices for the intermediate segment.

It is likely that the G8 will be Motorola’s first G series smartphone to have a hole-punch display. On the back of the phone, we see a triple-camera setup with one of the sensors isolated from the other two. Like the Moto G8 Plus, the Moto G8 will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, embedded in the Motorola logo. As for the color options, the Moto G8 will reportedly be available in White and Blue shades, with a textured finish.

The Moto G8 and G8 Power are scheduled to launch very soon, and the XDA Developers forum has already advanced with those that should be the complete specifications of both devices. Both smartphones will hit the market with the same processor – the Snapdragon 665, a hole in the screen for the front cameras and a biometric sensor housed in the rear of the device. 

The setup is aligned vertically on the top-left with one big sensor on the top placed separately. The remaining cameras are combined in a module right below. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back with the Moto’s ‘M’ logo inscribed in it. The report further suggests two color options – blue and white.

However, the base model should be based on an HD screen, 4000mAh battery, and “only” three cameras. The Moto G8 Power should impress with its 5000mAh battery, four rear cameras, and the base version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Both of these new Motorola Moto G8 smartphones will come with Android 10, as yet there are no details on a release date, we may find out more details at MWC 2020 next month.

It is good to remember that Motorola has also confirmed that it is working on devices with the Snapdragon 765 and 865 processors. The brand has a conference scheduled for the Mobile World Congress, where it should talk about these devices. It remains to be seen whether Motorola will be able to compete with brands like Xiaomi or Samsung in the intermediate segment where these devices will be inserted. Everything will depend on your price.
